The environment just naturally forces that on to you. The environment we've created practically forces you into serious, tactical roleplay, because once you're thrown in there you quickly realise there is no other way to survive and succeed. It's this perfectionism that has allowed us to get to where we are today.
And most importantly, if the AI is not challenging and smart enough, all is lost, as AI is the most fundamental part of the simulation. If the atmosphere, story and missions are not in-depth enough, you won't be compelled to play your role properly, and we failed again. If you don't feel attached to the equipment you use, we failed to simulate logistics properly. Instead of focusing on recreating a military unit from real life in Arma, our 'sim' understanding is based on the believability of the overall gameplay and atmosphere. When we look at the hardcore persistent server we have created over many years of R&D, the lengthy and immersive training programs we have made, and our dedication to realism in warfare in general, we like to also think of ourselves as 'hardcore', but perhaps in a different way than what you would expect from a typical military milsim unit. 'What separates us from the rest? When we look at the Arma unit landscape, we see either casual or semi-casual PMC units, or hardcore milsim units whose focus is on simulating a military unit from real life with much of its technicalities.
